The rebel one
Lilith seems to have a double nature: divine with God and the upper world, and exiled in the lower world.
She is often pointed out as the first Eve. God would have created Adam and Lilith equal, but a clash arose from this separation of these original androgynous beings. Who will be in the superior position and who inferior, hiding symbolically the latent conflict of social supremacy. Lilith becomes winged and calling for God flees.
She frees herself from man, and takes on the female form of devils. Man succombs to the pleasure of flesh, one of his ribs taking the place of guilty pleasure ( Eve). This is the foundation of the myth of the first woman, Lilith, who dominates during night hours, and in different guises, glides through men's dreams, seductive and entchanting, wampire, succubus and witch all at once.
In rebellion against man her symbol is the black moon. May be Lilith being the reincarnation of the Black Goddess is the snake who gives the fruit of knowledge to Eve?
